This winter, we have the opportunity to serve the community in a powerful way through a partnership with Arundel House of Hope and the Winter Relief program. Winter Relief is a collaborative effort that involves churches across Anne Arundel County coming together to provide shelter for people experiencing homelessness during the harsh winter months. Our part to play will take place from December 13 through 20. During that time, we’re transforming our church into a home, and we need your help to do it.
Hosts assist our guests to make their stay as comfortable and stress free as possible. This includes assisting with daily check-in, dispensing over the counter medications, coordinating the daily lunch list, and monitoring guest shower and laundry schedules.
The breakfast crew works to setup and serve a continental-style breakfast that will consist of breakfast items that are prepackaged and portable. In addition to serving, what some call the most important meal of the day, you’ll have the opportunity to engage in conversations and build relationships with our Winter Relief guests.
As a member of the Lunch Crew, you’ll work to plan and prepare bag lunches that will help our guests get through a long, cold day. Lunch will be prepared the night before so that guests can grab them in the morning when they depart for the day.
As a member of our Dinner Crew , you will have the privilege of preparing and serving a warm, delicious meal at the end of a long, cold day. You will also be able to engage in conversations and build relationships with our Winter Relief guests.
Members of the Night Crew help create a safe and secure area for our guests after hours. They connect with guests and assist with snacks and beverages and dispensing over the counter medications, and distributing bag lunches as guests depart for the day.
Playing a role on the Transportation Crew means you’ll be involved in making sure  guests travel safely between day and evening sites.  Safe travel to a warm location can make all the difference in the world to someone experiencing homelessness.
Our Setup and Breakdown Crew is committed to helping prepare a welcoming, comfortable accommodations for our guests. They assist with setup to ensure that our guests have the best experience possible.
The people on our Activities Crew are committed to creating a fun, entertaining experience for our guests by spending time with guests, playing games and facilitating other activities, such as movie night. This time is meant to be an informal, fun way to connect with guests.
Treat Yo’self Saturday is our way of making our guests feel special. We’re going to do this through providing an amazing breakfast, lunch, dinner and other amenities for our guests.
